Council Member Craig Rhyne was elected to Mount Pleasant Town Council in 2009. He currently chairs the Personnel Committee. Council Member Rhyne also serves on the Annexation, Bids & Purchases, Fire, and Water Supply Committees of Council.

Craig H. Rhyne, Jr., DMD, is a native of Mount Pleasant, and the son of Dr. and Mrs. Craig H. Rhyne, Sr.

He attended Mount Pleasant Academy, Moultrie Middle School, and Wando High School. He is a 1996 Citadel graduate and a graduate of MUSC College of Dental Medicine before becoming an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the U.S. Army.

After serving as a facial trauma and reconstructive surgeon Council Member Rhyne was honorably discharged as a Major in 2008. He and his wife chose to return home to raise their family and begin his private practice, Palmetto Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with partner Dr. Courtney W. Shelbourne.

Council Member Rhyne lives in Mount Pleasant with his wife Jennifer and their three children.
