Town to hold Annual 5K-Run in Old Village |
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC - With the area’s historic charm and beautiful views of the water, runners are sure to enjoy the rare opportunity to run through the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant during the Annual Old Village Harbor Run on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007. The Town of Mount Pleasant will host the race starting at 8:30 a.m. at Alhambra Hall on Middle Street.
A special low-key, warm-up race perfect for runners hoping to keep in shape in the winter season, the race will be limited to the first 200 runners who enter.
Divisions include male and female, age 12 and under through age 70 and over. Entry forms are available at all Mt. Pleasant Recreation Department facilities and at On the Run Specialty Running Store. Registration is also available at www.townofmountpleasant.com.
Early bird registration will run until Saturday, Nov. 3, with fees of $15 including a t-shirt or $10 without a t-shirt. After Nov. 3, the fee will be $20 with a T-shirt or $15 without a T-shirt. If space allows, entries will also be accepted on the day of the race. Packets and t-shirts may be picked up at On The Run Specialty Running Store on Friday, Nov. 9 from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or on the day of the race at Alhambra Hall from 7:30 – 8:15 a.m.
The event is sponsored by RBC Insurance, T-Bonz Gill and Grill, On the Run Specialty Running Store, Piggly Wiggly, Tate Nation of Shem Creek Art Gallery and Mt. Pleasant Waterworks. Runners will enjoy breakfast and coffee from T-Bonz as well as juice, fruit and water provided by Piggly Wiggly.
An awards ceremony will be held immediately following the race, with prizes awarded to the top overall male and female finishers as well as the top three in each age group. Artist Tate Nation of Shem Creek Art Gallery will provide some of his beautiful, unique artwork as prizes to the top winners.
