NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCY

POSITION: Vehicle Operator
DEPARTMENT: Public Services
SUPERVISOR: Division Chief – Public Services
AVAILABLE: Immediately
SALARY: $26,043.68 annually

REQUIREMENTS: The Vehicle Operator is responsible for the operation of Department equipment in support of Department activities including hauling of debris, construction and maintenance of Town roads and drainage systems. Must pass background check and drug screen.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1) Operates dump trucks and other heavy trucks to haul rock, dirt, refuse and/or trash. 2) Operates backhoe to dig holes/ditches as directed. 3) Operates rubber or metal wheel roller in leveling/packing asphalt. 4) Operates bulldozer or related equipment to clear/prepare baseball fields and parking lots. 5) Operates other Department equipment, such as tractors and pumps, as needed. 6) Performs basic, routine light maintenance on heavy equipment. 7) Performs other duties as assigned that relate to construction of streets/drainage facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED and three to five (3-5) years prior work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Valid SC Commercial Driver’s License required
