The Mount Pleasant Office of Economic Development (OED) utilizes a “team” approach to facilitate the site selection process. The OED works directly with the Mayor and Town Council on a range of economic development topics involving the attraction of new business investment, the retention and expansion of the existing business base, the formation of new companies and the creation of low-impact tourism opportunities.

The OED coordinates its efforts with the South Carolina Department of Commerce, “Team South Carolina,” the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, the Metro Charleston Chamber of Commerce, the Charleston County Office of Economic Development, “Team Charleston,” Mount Pleasant Waterworks, utilities and other regional and local institutions, agencies and groups. The OED is a confidential source of comprehensive project information for CEO’s, presidents, corporate real estate executives, facility planners and site selection consultants.
