Fire Department
The Mount Pleasant Fire Department has provided fire suppression and emergency services since 1837. We have evolved from an organization focused solely on fire fighting to one that leads the way in first response to emergency incidents. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department is deeply involved in the community it serves.
Today, the Fire Department is composed of 116 paid personnel augmented by 14 volunteers. Firefighters work twenty-four hour rotating shifts. The corporate area and its surroundings are served by five strategically located fire stations. The Fire Department administrative office is located within the Town Municipal Complex.
I look forward to the many challenges ahead as the Town of Mount Pleasant Fire Department continues to set the example and embrace change as a means in which to continually assess its performance and seek improvement.
