2014 Calendar Opening Day

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR MOUNT PLEASANT RESIDENTS: If you will be signing a 2014 contract for anyone other than yourself it is extremely important that you contact the booking office at (843) 849-2022 BEFORE the opening on June 13, 2013. Necessary information will be provided to you that will assist in your contract completion.


Please note that we are not taking contracts for 2014 at this time.  Dates cannot be reserved in advance.  The 2014 calendar (still subject to change) is posted for your information only.
 

2014 OPENING DAY – MOUNT PLEASANT RESIDENTS ONLY

  • Contracts for dates in 2014 will be taken from Mount Pleasant Residents only on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at :
    • Alhambra Hall located at 131 Middle Street, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m
    • Town Hall Public Services Administration Office located at 100 Ann Edwards Lane, Bldg. A, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on June 13, 2013.
  • After June 13th contracts for Mount Pleasant Residents only will be taken at :
    • Town Hall Public Services Administration Office located at 100 Ann Edwards Lane, Bldg. A, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Proof of residency is required prior to completion of contract (SCDL showing Mount Pleasant address, OR a picture ID with complete name and a current utility bill (electric/water only) with the same name and a current Mount Pleasant address. 
  • Rental days can only be booked by completing a contract along with a $1,000.00 Reservation Deposit and a $500.00 Damage Deposit. 
  • Contracts are taken on a first come first served basis.   
  • On Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at 9:00 a.m., the downstairs room (on the parking lot side) at Alhambra Hall will be open for Mount Pleasant residents wishing to wait in line prior to the June 13th calendar opening.  Space is limited – for everyone’s convenience please limit 2 individuals per party.  Booking procedure will commence on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. at Alhambra Hall. 
  • Tours of the Hall will be provided following the completion of your contract processing on June 13th.

2014 Mount Pleasant Resident Rate Policy

  • A Mount Pleasant resident may sign this contract and obtain the Mount Pleasant rate for the following: themselves, immediate family member (parent/spouse/child/sibling), their place of employment (verification required), and their affiliated school/club/non-profit organization (verification required).   Proof of residency shall be required at time of rental.  
  • It is the responsibility of the renting party (Mount Pleasant resident) to sign in with the Town’s representative at Alhambra Hall at the beginning of the event and provide identification/proof of residency for the record.  Failure to follow the contract requirements, to include the required sign in process, could result in forfeiture of the Reservation Deposit.  The renting party/contract signer will be responsible to the Town for the obligations hereunder, including but not limited to the contract amount and any and all damages.
  • In consideration of the rate applicable to Mount Pleasant residents, I hereby certify that the function for which I am renting Alhambra Hall meets the resident requirements: the event is being rented and conducted by me; that I will be present at the function; and that I will be responsible for the conduct of the function and the attendees.  I understand that if this is not true, I risk the rental ability of Alhambra Hall for future functions, to include the falsification consequences as addressed in Contract Item #26.
  • If this Contract is falsified in any form, the Town of Mount Pleasant will have the option to cancel the scheduled event and/or the renting party will be liable for any and all appropriate fees.  If the scheduled event is cancelled, the Reservation Deposit will not be refunded.

2014 OPENING DAY FOR NON-RESIDENTS

  • Contracts for dates in 2014 will begin to be taken from Non-residents on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the Town Hall Public Services Administration Office, located at 100 Ann Edwards Lane, Bldg. A, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
  • Rental days can only be booked by completing a contract along with a $1,500.00 Reservation Deposit and a $500 Damage Deposit. 
  • Contracts are taken on a first come first served basis. 
  • The Town Hall Public Services Department waiting area will be open at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19th for Non-residents wishing to wait in line for the 8:00 a.m. contract signing.  Booking procedure will commence on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at 8:00 a.m.


NEW RATES
    effective June 13, 2013

Reservation Deposit:                         Mount Pleasant Residents - $1,000.00

                                                                           Non-Residents - $1,500.00

Damage Deposit:  $500.00

Deposits are separate from the Rental Fees.

  • Rental Fee (Monday-Thursday):      Mount Pleasant Residents - $1,000.00

                                                                                  Non-Residents - $1,500.00

  • Rental Fee    (Friday-Sunday):         Mount Pleasant Residents - $2,000.00

                                                                                  Non-Residents - $4,000.00


NEW CANCELLATION POLICY   effective June 13, 2013

  • Cancellations will result in the forfeiture of the Reservation Deposit.
  • If the event is cancelled the Damage Deposit will be refunded.

NEW PAYMENT INFORMATION   effective June 13, 2013

  • Payments for Deposits and Rental Fees can be made by credit card (Visa and MasterCard only), cash or check.
  • Credit card payments :
    • Visa and MasterCard are the only credit cards we are able to accept.
    • Payment must be made in person.  We will not be able to accept credit card numbers over the telephone.
    • The owner of the credit card must be present and produce valid identification.
    • The credit card must be signed in order to be accepted as payments for Deposits and Rental Fees.

Alhambra Hall is nestled in the Old Village section of Mount Pleasant. Overlooking the Charleston Harbor, this former Ferry Terminal is appointed with hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings and breezy southern porches that wrap three sides of the building. We host only one event per day so there are no conflicts between events.

The Main Hall
A popular spot for weddings and receptions, Alhambra Hall's main rental space is approximately 3280 square feet. The main hall measures 40-feet wide by 80-feet long.  The building capacity is a maximum of 350 people.  The main hall space can comfortably seat approximately 200 people for a sit down dinner.  

Contracts
We are currently taking contracts for the 2013 calendar year. Interested in certain dates? Availability can be checked by clicking on the calendar. Contracts are taken on a first come first served basis in the Public Services Administrative Office at the Town Hall Complex located at 100 Ann Edwards Lane, Building A, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Contracts are not transferable. A separate contract and Reservation/Damage Deposit (change effective on June 13, 2013) is required for each day booked.
